After meeting in Ta’ Qali, the participating trucks were driven all the way to UNEC’s premises in Burmarrad where a fund-raising BBQ was held for all the participating truck drivers and their families. Funds collected will be presented to the Puttinu Cares Foundation.

“The DAF community is growing, in fact, it was only last month that we delivered seven new DAF CF tractor units to yet another new client, and two more DAF LF Truck to our esteemed clients.

We therefore wanted to host an event that could bring all this growing community together and in so doing, to raise some much needed funds for a great cause,” said Gilbert Debono, Sales Manager at UNEC Ltd. “In Malta, the brand DAF is enjoying a lot of success due to the fact that it is a specialised brand that deals with the specific requirements of the heavy industry. DAF delivers Trucks and tractor units, suitable for varies applications such as Bowsers, Hook loaders, Tippers, waste collection and distribution trucks.

These are not only equipped with the latest comfort and technology specifications but deliver noteworthy efficiencies especially when it comes to fuel consumption and emissions. The DAF community is made up of all those working in the industry who seek these specifications,” added John Bonello, Sales Executive at UNEC. The “DAF Drive Day 16” event featured a successful truck-pulling event by a single man as well as a draw which saw two lucky winners presented with a trip to DAF’s Factory in Holland.

“Sometimes, meeting our clients can be difficult due to their very busy schedules.

This event, gave us the opportunity to meet a lot of them in an informal and relaxed setting and discuss their experience of the DAF brand as well as certain issues and opportunities for more business,” concluded John Bonello
