All Freight Airline Introduces Norway Service
Air Cargo Carrier Expands Portfolio LUXEMBOURG – NORWAY – Air freight only carrier Cargolux is adding a weekly service on Tuesdays from Oslo to Luxembourg from the 1 November. The destination will be added to the company’s Luxembourg-New York weekly service with the first flight booked to carry fresh salmon which will be distributed to various destinations from the airline’s hub in Luxembourg.
Aimed primarily at the seafood sector, and flying new 747-8 freighters from Avinor Oslo Airport , Cargolux believes its new offering will be of great benefit to Norwegian food producers as they will have access to the company’s established international network and long-standing expertise in cool chain transportation. Niek van der Weide, Cargolux EVP Sales & Marketing said:

Cargolux believes that seafood will not be the only cargo it is likely to transport on the new route and anticipates enquiries from the oil and gas industry from customers interested in the US – Norway – Luxembourg service, but with Norwegian salmon such an important export for that country. Avinor Manager Cargo Development, Martin Langaas observed: “The seafood industry requires more direct capacity to the most important markets in Asia and the US.
We are continuously working to facilitate more direct capacity from Oslo Airport and through Cargolux, the seafood industry will have access to yet another desirable network to the most important overseas markets.”
