Shipping expert Robertshaw joins international company
A well known figure in the island’s maritime sector has begun a new job. Mark Robertshaw has joined Brightwell Payments Inc which is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Brightwell Payments is an international payments platform provider with a market-leading presence in the maritime sector.
Mr Robertshaw has been appointed as senior vice president, sales and commercial. An experienced sales and commercial leader in the maritime and offshore sectors, Mr Robertshaw will assume responsibility for the growth of Brightwell’s business in these sectors, while taking a leadership role in the development of new market opportunities. Bibby is a provider of specialist maritime services to ship owners. Mr Robertshaw was managing director of Bibby’s Western Europe crewing operation and most recently group commercial director responsible for business development, customer service, marketing, key account management and acquisitions. He worked at Bibby’s island office at Compass House, Isle of Man Business Park, Cooil Road.
Prior to Bibby, Mr Robertshaw spent 15 years in leadership roles with shipping and maritime interests across Asia including managing director of Faststream Recruitment Asia and global account director for Hapag-Lloyd. Mr Robertshaw is an active member of the growing maritime cluster in the Isle of Man where he is vice chairman of the Isle of Man Shipping Association. He also serves as a non-executive director to Stream Marine a maritime and offshore training provider in the UK.
Mr Robertshaw holds a Master’s Degree in International Shipping from Plymouth University.
