The role and your responsibilities The Program Manager, Logistics and International Business (LIB) is responsible for the management of training, educational and business activities of the logistics and international business vocational programs in the School’s MITL Industry Group, ensuring that the RMIT Strategic and Business Plans are successfully implemented. You will lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of training and assessment, innovative teaching materials, products and services to meet the needs of enterprises, industry and students.
Management of recruitment, selection, induction and work plans of staff in the area of responsibility will also form part of this role. You will interact effectively with external organisations, with other RMIT Schools, and in particular with teaching and professional staff. You will participate in relevant activities to ensure that vocational competence to the education level being delivered and assessed is maintained, together with promoting, encouraging and ensuring teaching staff of the program/s participate in relevant activities in order to do the same.
You will participate actively within the School leadership team. Skills and experience required The ideal candidate will have strong industry experience and specialist content knowledge or qualifications in a relevant discipline.
Your sound knowledge and understanding of vocational education and training sector, including quality assurance systems will be critical to your success in this role. Furthermore, you will demonstrate capacity to effectively lead and manage teams of staff in the design, implementation and evaluation of high quality training and assessment programs, products and services. Your capacity to implement strategies to cater for differing learning styles and approaches to study including gender and cultural influences and the needs of disadvantaged groups will be essential.
A degree level qualification or above in one of the Logistics and International Business disciplines preferred. The appointee must hold the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment from the TAE10 Training and Education Training Package or equivalent competencies as a minimum qualification. Appointment to this position is subject to passing a mandatory Working with Children Check.
