Decatur City Council approves new fire truck purchase

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – Decatur’s City Council approved the purchase of a new fire truck to be used at station 5.

The new £500k truck will replace a model that’s 19 years old.

We are happy to announce the city council has approved DFR to purchase a new Sutphen fire engine to be housed at the new Station 5, on Danville Rd. We would like to thank Mayor Bowling, Councilman Ard, Councilman Jackson, Councilwoman Hill, Councilwoman Bibbee, Councilman Kirby.

Decatur Council members unanimously approved the purchase at Tuesday morning’s city council meeting. Decatur’s station 5, on Danville Road, is the city’s busiest.
