Head-on truck crash injuries 5, one critically, on Route 51 in Baldwin Borough

Five people were injured Saturday morning, one critically, when two trucks were involved in a head-on collision on Route 51 in Baldwin Borough, according to the Post-Gazette's news partner KDKA-TV.

The accident occurred about 5 a.m. near Route 51's intersection with Streets Run Road and the highway is expected to be closed for several hours, Baldwin Police Chief Anthony Cortazzo told the TV station. Police said four people were in a southbound truck that collided with a truck headed north in which the driver was the only rider. One of the vehicles caught fire, but no one was injured by the flames, police said.

No identities have been released and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
