Three people injured after two trucks crash outside dental surgery in Hall Green

Three people were injured when two lorries collided in a busy residential street in Birmingham on Monday. One of the vehicles, believed to be a removal van, came to rest on its side after the accident in Hall Green at lunchtime. A man was taken to hospital, while two other casualties were treated by paramedics at the scene.

It happened outside the Hall Green Dental Practice and damaged the surgery's wall.

The incident happened at 1.20pm when the two large vehicles were involved in a collision in Reddings Lane, near the junction with Shaftmoor Lane. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.19pm to reports of a collision involving two lorries at Shaftmoor Lane. We sent one ambulance to the scene.

"Staff treated one patient, a man, for injuries not thought to be serious. He was taken to Heartlands Hospital for further treatment. Two other patients were assessed and discharged at the scene."

West Midlands Fire Service were also sent to the scene, sending crews from Billesley and Hay Mills.  Crews spent more than an hour there, making the two vehicles safe and assisting paramedics.

"During a collision, one lorry came to rest on its side," a brigade spokeswoman said.
