New China-Europe freight train route launched in China's Tangshan

A new China-Europe freight train route has been launched in Tangshan, north China's Hebei Province. The first freight train on the route departed from the Caofeidian port area of Tangshan Port on Aug.

26 for Xi'an, capital of northwest China's Shaanxi Province. The cargo on the train will eventually be transported from Xi'an to regions and counties in Central Asia and Europe by China Railway Express "Chang'an." The new China-Europe freight train route opens a new land route for Belt and Road Initiative.

The route will be of great significance for strengthening the ties between north China and Europe.

It also provides a new channel for goods to be transported from Japan and Korea to Europe via China.
