Emergency services have freed a man who was crushed by a truck at a petrol station in Sydney's south west.

Ambulance officials were called to the BP station on Rookwood Road in Yagoona at 2.15pm on Wednesday after reports a truck had rolled over onto a 56-year-old man.

Three crews including a specialist medical team were sent to the scene where paramedics treated the man while he was still pinned under the truck.

He was suffering from pelvic and abdominal injuries.

Rescue groups managed to free the man from underneath the truck and he has been transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

More to come.
